Why Markwayne Mullin is Bad for Oklahoma

Markwayne Mullin loves to parade around as a protector of “Oklahoma values.” But when you dig into his record, it’s clear he’s not protecting Oklahomans at all—he’s protecting his donors.

Take food security. Mullin has supported restrictions on SNAP benefits, which hurts working families, kids, and seniors across our state. Oklahoma already ranks high in hunger and poverty, and his policies would make that worse.

Then there’s healthcare. By backing cuts to Medicaid and opposing expansions of care, Mullin leaves rural hospitals scrambling and families without affordable options. That’s not “pro-life,” that’s pro-suffering.

Meanwhile, he’s got no problem carrying water for companies like Continental Resources and even foreign-facing outfits like Frontera Resources. When those companies lobby, Mullin listens. When Oklahoma families ask for support, he shrugs.

And let’s not forget his culture-war obsession. He’ll rail against drag queens, trans kids, and “wokeness” all day long, but where’s that energy when it comes to protecting women from violence or supporting equal pay? Nowhere.

Markwayne Mullin isn’t standing up for Oklahoma. He’s standing up for the powerful, the wealthy, and whoever writes the biggest check.

Oklahoma deserves a Senator who protects people, not just profit.
